Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

An average day in the Cookin' in Heels house:

Me:  the admiral of adorable (that would be Arnie, for those of you not in the know) needs to trek downstairs to do her business.

The BF:  why can't you take her?

Me:  BECAUSE I'M MAKING YOU (insert tasty treat x, y, or z)!!!

The BF:  Are you making (x, y, or z) for ME?  Or are you making (x, y, or z) FOR YOUR BLOG?!

99% of the time, the BF is correct, I am cooking for the blog and he is just a lucky participant in that process but today . . . today I made cookies for the BF.  Aren't I a gem?  The BF loves many things, but one thing takes the prize:

Peanut butter cups.  Bite size, full size, or anywhere in between.  He loves them and I, I do not.  I don't mind them, necessarily, but if I were stuck on a desert island and could only choose one sweet treat to bring along, it would not be peanut butter cups.  Nor would it be chocolate, which the BF also loves.  Those two objects of his affection in mind, I set out to make these Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies.

This is the first time that I have made cookies in a loooooooong time, so I wanted to do it right:  mixing all of my ingredients well, in separate bowls, adding my flour to my liquids slowly, and gently folding my peanut butter cups and chocolate chips into the mix.

My only regret is that I didn't drop my cookies onto my baking stone by "rounded spoonfuls."  I am far too impatient for rounded spoonfuls.  Much to my delight, the BF informed me that the cookies are delicious!

And, he says, they make milk taste better.  I'm pretty sure that's a rave review!

I have decided that, on the weekends, I am going to post pictures of shoes that I am lusting after and that are on my "to-purchase-in-the-near-future list" (yes, I have one of those) since I usually spend my weekend wearing sweats and watching football.  Today, I bring you the Jeffrey Campbell "Lita":

I am IN LOVE with these crazy shoes.  AND they would make me exactly 6 feet tall, which is great since I've always wanted to be at least 5'10" like Cindy Crawford (thank you, Cher Horowitz).

  2. I'm not sure which looks better--the Lita's or the cookies. You need these boots! :-)
